CURRENT SHOW
Group
July 22 - September 27, 2026
Des Artistes presents its first summer show, "Group Dynamic," featuring contemporary and historic artists working across painting, sculpture and photography. Many of the artists—but not all—live and and work in Los Angeles, and greater California. This tightly-knit art community is in constant dialogue with one another—about their lives and their work, about the choices of what media types they use, where they distribute, what are the challenges of being creative today and living that way. This show aims to reflect that conversation, not only between contemporaries, but in some instances their predecessors as specifically underscored in the sequence of 1870s Ukiyo-e, paired with contemporary artists who directly quote these works. The works in the show come from a wide range of creators—from recent MFAs, to established artists.
Group Dynamic has been put together from the private collection of Des Artistes—the pieces on view are not for sale. From Des Artistes founder: "One of my aims was to make it possible for a broader audience to experience the works I am lucky enough to enjoy—to put the art into the public eye. Fundamentally our aim is to support art, artists and the community we live in. With the Post-Fire 1 show we directly supported those impacted by the 2025 fires. With "Group Dynamic," we assemble artists who otherwise might not be viewed collectively—apart from museum exhibits or trade shows. My hope is that the show creates awareness for the works of these emerging and established artists, and that being with the art provides a moment of respite in times of turbulence for all who come in the doors of 6006 Washington."
